TN could not make new additions to government colleges or seats this year. The only consolation is two new state-private universities - Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital under Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University in Samayapuram and Sri Venkateshwara Medical College Hospital and Research Institute in Red Hills - will offer 50% of their seats which will add up to 150 MBBS seats.
