N Rangasamy, the chief minister of Puducherry, announced on Thursday that the government will approve initiatives from private parties to open medical colleges in the union territory. He claimed that Puducherry students who wanted to study medicine shouldn't have any trouble finding places because the government had already provided a number of resources to make this possible.
