Covid-19 numbers in India are currently the lowest since the initial weeks of the pandemic, nearly two years ago. These include deaths from the virus, which fell below 250 in the week ending Sunday, a first since the April 13-19 week in 2020. Fresh cases too continue to decline steadily. India reported less than 26,400 fresh cases in the current week (March 7-13), the lowest since May 4-10, 2020.
