The findings of the study were published online today in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute (JNCI).Over the last six decades, the widespread adoption of the Pap test, in which a pathologist evaluates tissue samples for abnormal cells, has greatly lowered the prevalence of cervical squamous cell cancer. However, the prevalence of ADC has not decreased, owing to the fact that the Pap test is less successful at detecting it.
