The key highlight of the four-day Regional Committee was the nomination of Saima Wazed as the next Regional Director of the WHO South-East Asia Region. The member countries reiterated their commitment to continue to prioritise time-bound, ambitious but realistic milestones to scale up control and management of cardiovascular diseases by accelerating the South-East Asia HEARTS (SEAHEARTS) initiative.
