While 24 deaths were reported nationwide in the last twenty-four hours, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW)’s website has updated the death toll to 5,31,141 as of April 17, 2023. Three deaths were reported from Maharashtra and one from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala; three each in Delhi and Punjab; four in Uttrakhand; and six in Gujarat. In addition, three reconciled deaths happened in Kerala.
