The number of cases nationwide has remained way above the 10,000-plus mark consistently since April 19, 2023. Barring a few states such as Karnataka, where election campaigning is in full swing, including Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Ladakh, all other states and union territories saw a decline in fresh infection cases.
