Most of the patients are from Chhattisgarh, while some are from other states. Earlier, NIV Pune had also identified this virus through PCR tests. The Department of Ophthalmology at AIIMS Raipur gathered a total of 30 suspected samples of viral conjunctivitis from August 1 to 10, 2023. Conjunctival swabs were collected in sterile VTM and transferred to the state-level VRD lab in the Microbiology Department at AIIMS Raipur for further diagnosis.
